True's Head of Tech Joins Umbraco Backoffice Team!

by Luke Cardy

May 16, 2022

We super excited to share the news that our Head of Technology, Matt Sutherland has been invited to join the Umbraco Backoffice Community Team!

Umbraco is an open-source and flexible content management system (CMS) which is used by businesses all over the world including Aardman, Microsoft, Carlsberg and McDonalds. At true we work with multiple CMS platforms including Umbraco, Optimizely and Kentico. Some of clients favour Umbraco based on it’s ease of use for content editors, robust technology and easy integrations with third party systems.

The Umbraco Backoffice Team is a carefully selected group of Umbraco experts across a range of different specialisms, who come together to share their experiences, knowledge and most importantly feedback on the Umbraco CMS. The group was set up to act as a sounding board for Umbraco HQ to make changes and enhancements to the back end of the CMS, making the lives of content editors and developers much easier.

Speaking of his appointment, Matt said "Umbraco has become fundamental to our tech offering here at true. It seems only right that when you benefit from something as much as we have with Umbraco that you take the opportunity to contribute back to the community and try to make a difference where possible. I am hoping that with this team we can empower developers to do great things with the Backoffice and help shape its future".

Matt will also be speaking at this year’s CodeGarden, Umbraco’s annual conference on 16th June about how we built Aardman’s new site using Umbraco. Keep your eyes peeled for more information!
