Government data shows that the UK has welcomed 115,000 Ukrainians, up to February 7, 2023, with around one in three understood to be under the age of 18.

Moving to a strange new place can be daunting for children, especially as ONS data shows 32% of Ukrainian children at preschool or nursery don’t receive English language support.

To help Ukrainian kids acclimatize to life in the UK, Mother London created the Friendly Faces sticker pack, each containing well-known Ukrainian cartoon characters from Mavka. The Forest Song – which all recently appeared on the BBC’s Hey Duggee – and The Cossacks, alongside encouraging Ukrainian phrases.

The Friendly Faces sticker packs are free to order from friendly-faces.org.
