The fast food chain is promoting the news that the hot chicken burger has become a permanent feature on its menu.

Calling all burger lovers, McDonald’s wants you to be proud of the faces you make when eating its spicy chicken offering. The joyful ‘Own Your McSpicy Face’ ad sees hungry individuals lean into their chaotic facial expressions when tucking into food, no matter how silly they look.

The campaign film was produced through Somesuch and the soundtrack is Coming In Hot by Andy Mineo and Lecrae.

Thomas O’Neill, head of marketing, food and beverages at McDonald’s UK & Ireland said: “The McSpicy is back and it’s here to stay! This fun, humorous campaign builds on the brilliant insight that everyone pulls a face when they eat something spicy – why not celebrate that, and call on the nation to own their ‘McSpicy faces’.”

The ad will be shown across TV, video-on-demand and cinema for the next six weeks and will be amplified by social media and radio activations.

Andrew Long and James Millers, creative directors at Leo Burnett UK added: “Everyone knows when you eat a McSpicy you can’t help pull a McSpicy face. So to mark the permanent launch of this fan favorite, we wanted to invite the nation to own their McSpicy faces with a fun, populist campaign that we hope will resonate with Gen Z chicken lovers.”
