British actress and presenter Jameela Jamil has adopted a new role as host of a Snapchat show centered on mental health and wellbeing.

I Want To Get Better with Jameela Jamil has been produced in collaboration with Alaska TV and sees Jamil open up about her mental health struggles to get people talking about a difficult subject.

Debuting on the instant messaging app this Saturday, the show sees Jamil invite audiences to undertake their wellness journeys by banishing the January blues through a combination of anecdotes, activities and fresh perspectives.

Jamil remarked: “I’m really excited to partner with Snapchat and Alaska TV to release my own Snapchat show about mental health, a topic I’m deeply passionate about. In this show, I meet young people around the UK who are taking their mental health into their own hands. I hope their stories – combined with some of mine, as well as the lessons we have learned along the way – will help others take steps to improve their mental well-being.”

The episodic format, in which Jamil also serves as executive producer, airs weekly through February 11.

Jamil is also a prominent activist, calling out cosmetics brand Avon over an anti-cellulite campaign.
